  • God is doing some amazing things in Jacob Burson.  He brought the message yesterday and spoke on being a disciple in the area of examining our commitment.  He knocked it out of the park!
  • We also shot a hilarious (I thought) video with Jacob for the bumper to kinda mock how we think about committing to God and the church.  Check it out here.
  • Andy Postell blogged!  WOW!  He hasn’t blogged since January 21, 2009.  Andy is required to send in a Sunday update to his boss so I gave him the idea of turning that into a blog post as well.  Apparently it worked.  So you’ll at least be seeing a weekly blog from Andy now.  I think he is one of the top church leaders out there so I’m excited that he will get to speak into your life like he does mine.
  • I felt HORRIBLE but God saw me through and gave me strength to lead his people to his throne.
  • Jacob gave a tangible way to invite friends at the end of the service with some invite cards (found in this blog).  He reminded us that we are not trying to simply get numbers but to save souls from hell!
  • We ended the service with the song “I Will Rise” by Chris Tomlin.  So I wanted to leave you with the lyrics that we sang out as our prayer at the end of the service:
There’s a peace I’ve come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There’s an anchor for my soul
I can say, It is well

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle’s wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise, I will rise

There’s a day that’s drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle’s wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise, I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing
Worthy is the Lamb
And I hear the cry of every longing heart
Worthy is the Lamb

I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle’s wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise, I will rise

My wife and I really enjoyed Sunday and I thought Jacob did a good job demonstrating what being apart of the Well is really all about. We are looking foward to the connection dinner and as we are praying for God to direct us about joing the Well, we would also ask for your prayers. We are looking foward to the small groups. When do you see those starting up? I am excited about the ministry opportunities at the Well. Looking foward to Sunday.

Awesome stuff, Brad. We’re so glad to have you there with us. The connection dinner will be great. I unfortunately will have to miss this one, but it will be great! Life Groups will be starting up in about 2 weeks towards the end of the series. You’ll be hearing more soon. Praying for you and your family!

  3. Jacob Says:

Yep. Sunday was awesome again. Really, it was just another great Sunday at The Well.

Life Groups will be rolling again soon and we’re excited about getting back into it!
